Art Tips,

Hey all,

Terribly sorry for my absence.
Recently I had an awful lot of responsibility in school but also at home. Approaching holidays and the new year. Well, recently  I had a few spectators, asked me a few questions that I hear quite often. So I decided to write a little bit in this post, on these questions, and, of course, respond to some today.

1. Is drawing hard ?
- No, of course not , it's all about you inspirations in drawing mine is that art is my 'hobby' my inspiration.

2. Who taught you to draw?
- I do not think anyone did because my family always said that I use to draw from a very young age and I still do. Teacher sometimes gives me a clue that I should use and get on with but ,usually I just deal with problems and try my self once again ,that's how I learn.

3.Self-taught?
Yes, often I draw when I'm bored. My head is always full of new interesting ideas. Nobody ever taught me how to draw, so my drawings are not perfect. I read a lot of books on visual arts, and by doing that I'm learning, sometimes I notice something and  I just draw it, what ever falls into my eyes.

4.What I like to draw and why?
-It seems to me that it's people,  faces 'portraits' mainly. It's probably because I see the beauty of each  face of every human being, always gives me a great pleasure, drawing people.

5.Do you prefer to paint / draw?
It looks like I prefer to draw because I can easily handle the pencils now, but it is also the paint, if it was the oil paint the yes, but if it was the acrylic paint then no..

6. Do you like to draw nature?
Yes, quite often I draw flowers.

7.How many years have you been drawing?
If I'm not mistaken then  I started going to elementary school the I began to do art.

8.What is your favorite artist?
Bec Winnel, much as it is delicate. This alone shows that it's fine art, they look as if they were painted but they are drawing done with  oil pastels. It is beautiful.

9.Your first drawing?
I think it was a flowers.....haha.

Another series of questions I will add on soon, thank you for your support, thank you for all the comments-e-mails that I received from  you all!

Hi all,

I promised that I will add a few pictures of my finished first made oil painting.Today at school I had the opportunity to take pictures of some work that I did for the first seven weeks of school, the first semester. Teachers who tout our group decided to do a whole wall full of props , dead nature ,etc. Our task was to draw these items by selecting one small spot on the wall full of props, these photos are also shown dawn the bottom. It was a horror, none of us in the group liked the job seven weeks of a nightmare with this task began.

This is my finished picture, Hether Horton's copy, it took me two weeks because of the props in the classroom and I had less time. But I made it and it looks like it's finished. Hether Horton  and her portrait's are amazing  and she's an amazing artist, lots of her work also represents my feelings as well as her's, that's why she inspires me.

This is how it looks finished!
I'm glad I no longer have to sit on it-now waiting for the assessment of the exams. The first seven weeks of work are almost over, each of us has more and more too do over the half-term and come back to done even more, after.

I had to take these pictures so I could describe exactly what I drew and why the Coursework for the exam is going to be based on this.
That's all for today, I hope you like it, now as I said I started a new image this week should get on with it.

6 Form

Hey all,

I was gone, I had an awful lot of learning and work to catch up with from school, I apologize. Now the worst is over, I barely write on the BLOG now days because of school. I will try as often as possible to add as many posts as I can. Two weeks ago, I started to paint one of the work by Heather Horton. Who is an amazing painter. She has some amazing work, each of her works has a meaning or feeling behind ,it can also be an emotion. My A-level course is very difficult ,terribly differs from gcse. There is more work and generally more writing, it's not about how good the drawings are ,it's about how to fit  my work into my chosen topic. My As choice for this year is 'IDENTITY'. I will explore 'Self emotions and feeling through out body language and face expressions. "Which will Represent Identity through my feelings, and a few of the images that are show are Hether Horton's,emotions and feelings:
-Sadness
-Love
-Depression
-Disappointment
-Happiness
-Restlessness

This is a picture that she painted when she was sick. Down the bottom of the page you can find some tips on how to paint the picture, step-by-step ,and as far as I took it, It really wasn't easy. Since the artist Horton  only paints with oil paints, oil paints qualify to my favorites. One problem is, that Hether Horton has different techniques that are sometimes very difficult to copy. As I mentioned Hether Horton paints herself ,where she portrays to us all her emotion, this piece of work represents 'depression' which she did suffer from. Hether had a very big problem with food and her weight.

I started two weeks ago, the first week I spent over 5 hours of painting, 15 minute intervals. In the second week I spent only 2 hours on it no more. This picture is really hard to paint, copying it by sketching it out first was a night mare. And here is a step-by-step tutorial how to paint an oil painting ,my first  one. My job this year in the first half term is to work on my sketching and 'observational artist copy's'.

The step by step Hether Horton piece of art. So if someone is interested , I finished the picture. I just didn't  have the opportunity to take pictures because of the lectures on Friday at the University of Oxford.
I apologize with all my heart. I finished the picture when I get back to school on Monday and as soon as possible I will add another note to my final result after the end of the progress. I hope you like it, it was not easy , I really worked hard on it.
Coming Soon.

Art Diary Continues ...

Hi All,

I got some positive comments on the permalink for my drawings, people write to me for more.
So a few people wanted me to express what they feel about my work on my Blog, I would love to say Thank You, officially it's lovely of you to be so kind and generous.
Thank you for all the good comments.
Here's  are some...

1).You have a talent! Great drawings. ;) More self-confidence and achieve mega success greetings ;)

2).Darekola:
draw? I could get a link to the gallery?
heard you're one of the best: P
I like to draw and also can am I learn something from you great work.

3).Ruff:
You have great pictures, could I see more?
You are overwhelming do you have any other drawings with Pattison and do you know is that Bella? Could you give me some advice on how I could practice drawing. No words could describe what your talent is like, amazing talent. I mean I have worked with a pencil before but mostly with shapes. The problem for me was to reproduce them well, proportion, shading for me it takes a long time and looks funny. My work is in the archives of the fbl, page number one, do not laugh.

Thank you for such a long speech. Yes I know what your talking about ,it is true that a true artist does not a professional kit or any sort of art accessories.

Professional equipment are needed only when to draw something right, like for an exam or something really important. However I do not have the time to draw,I do not exercise, I do not progress, and I know that half an hour a day would give me a really differ effect after a month when I look at my work. I can not comprehend the lessons and hence the lack of time to anything. If I do something then I have to count on the good and bad reviews, so the images that I put a link to my photoblog there are to maybe show you how it 's going, because there are more errors for one person to learn from. You very comforted me with the fact that your statements have imagination. I feel better :)
Thank you. I know that your drawings are not perfect, but close to the ideal they aren't missing much:)!

Here's one :)

This drawing has been drawn with pencils 2B and 4B, it took me 5 hours all together even though I know I would be able to add more to this picture if I only had a little more time, this is a drawing that I have use for my exam in Gcse Art in Year 11.
How to do this, I always start from the eyes, the proportions should be accurate. So I trying my best to get the eyes in the right place. Then I start sketching the nose out slowly ,just the basic outlines, the mouth and forehead, of course, more or less where they should be. Then I add more 'shadows, colors and light effects' to make the painting look more 3d.
Then after completing the whole face and when I filled up all the missing details I move on to the further detail. Then we draw the rest of the hair with quick pencil strokes and gradually I add a shadow with a 4b pencil to the hair.
Coming Soon.
