6 Form

Hey all,

I was gone, I had an awful lot of learning and work to catch up with from school, I apologize. Now the worst is over, I barely write on the BLOG now days because of school. I will try as often as possible to add as many posts as I can. Two weeks ago, I started to paint one of the work by Heather Horton. Who is an amazing painter. She has some amazing work, each of her works has a meaning or feeling behind ,it can also be an emotion. My A-level course is very difficult ,terribly differs from gcse. There is more work and generally more writing, it's not about how good the drawings are ,it's about how to fit  my work into my chosen topic. My As choice for this year is 'IDENTITY'. I will explore 'Self emotions and feeling through out body language and face expressions. "Which will Represent Identity through my feelings, and a few of the images that are show are Hether Horton's,emotions and feelings:
-Sadness
-Love
-Depression
-Disappointment
-Happiness
-Restlessness

This is a picture that she painted when she was sick. Down the bottom of the page you can find some tips on how to paint the picture, step-by-step ,and as far as I took it, It really wasn't easy. Since the artist Horton  only paints with oil paints, oil paints qualify to my favorites. One problem is, that Hether Horton has different techniques that are sometimes very difficult to copy. As I mentioned Hether Horton paints herself ,where she portrays to us all her emotion, this piece of work represents 'depression' which she did suffer from. Hether had a very big problem with food and her weight.

I started two weeks ago, the first week I spent over 5 hours of painting, 15 minute intervals. In the second week I spent only 2 hours on it no more. This picture is really hard to paint, copying it by sketching it out first was a night mare. And here is a step-by-step tutorial how to paint an oil painting ,my first  one. My job this year in the first half term is to work on my sketching and 'observational artist copy's'.

The step by step Hether Horton piece of art. So if someone is interested , I finished the picture. I just didn't  have the opportunity to take pictures because of the lectures on Friday at the University of Oxford.
I apologize with all my heart. I finished the picture when I get back to school on Monday and as soon as possible I will add another note to my final result after the end of the progress. I hope you like it, it was not easy , I really worked hard on it.
Coming Soon.

Love Angel x
